The DM-1701 is FCC Part90 certified, with the ID 2AJGM-DM1701, and is compatible with both digital and analog modes. It boasts a range of features, including dual-band 3,000 channels, 10,000 digital talk groups, and 120,000 contacts.

The device's 1.77-inch color TFT display allows for manual programming, DTMF, VFO, SMS, emergency alarm, digital monitor mode, CTCSS and CDCSS, color codes, and DMR encryption. It also features five customized keys for faster access to these functionalities.

The DM-1701's CPS (Customer Programming Software) supports mass editing, enabling users to create complex application requirements and write codeplugs more easily.
