BTECH UV-50X2 Dual Band Mobile Radio for Amateur (Ham) Use

The BTECH UV-50X2 (Second Generation) is a 50W Mobile Two Way Radio that builds upon the success of the original model, offering several new functionality improvements. This second-generation radio features performance enhancements and refined operations compared to its predecessor.

One key addition is the new RJ45 audio input and output capabilities. Users can now route speaker and microphone audio through the RJ45 microphone port, providing greater flexibility for custom installations where precise audio routing is required. The UV-50X2 also includes VOX (voice-activated transmission) support, enabling hands-free operation with compatible accessories.

The radio comes equipped with a DTMF handheld microphone, 6.5-foot direct connect 12V leads, a vehicle mounting bracket, screws, and an easy-to-read manual. Importantly, BTECH radios are designed in the USA with custom firmware and internal hardware, backed by full US-based support.

Distinguishing features of the UV-50X2 include an upgraded power chipset, customizable PTT (push-to-talk) return times, dual synchronized display mode, adjustable microphone audio gain, expanded frequency range support, and various scanning modes. Users can also edit saved memory channels on-the-fly without the need to delete and recreate them.

The included RJ45 to K1 audio adaptor allows users to leverage the same accessories compatible with BTECH's handheld radios. Special menus enable audio routing flexibility between the UV-50X2, the K1 accessory, or both.

The radio's multi-color LCD display can be fully customized, and its 200 programmable memory channels can be tailored to show alpha-numeric names or frequency settings. It supports the most common analog tones, including CTCSS, DCS, 2Tone, 5Tone, and DTMF calling methods.

The UV-50X2's quad-watch functionality allows monitoring of up to four frequencies or channels simultaneously, with the ability to configure VHF-VHF or UHF-UHF operation. The dual sync display feature enables users to synchronize channel information across one or two channels.

Technical specifications include VHF and UHF dual-band coverage, 50W/5W output power, a rear mono speaker output, RJ45 audio output in the front, and support for K1 accessories.
